Russia fined Google for failing to delete illegal content

Russia has fined Google 7.2 billion rubles (96 million). A Moscow court has ruled that the country has repeatedly failed to delete illegal content.

Google has said it will consider the court’s decision before deciding what to do next. Meanwhile, a Russian court has fined Meta, the parent company of popular social media platform Facebook, about ৭ 26 million for failing to remove banned content for the same reason immediately after Google was fined.
