Samsung and Micron, two of the world’s largest chip makers, have stated that their operations are being hampered by a lockdown in the Chinese city of Xi’an. This major Chinese industrial center is under severe lockdown due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

The chipmaker said this week that it was having a hard time keeping up with the performance of its northwestern city of Xi’an. The city is experiencing the worst time of the coronavirus epidemic. As a result, the production of their factories has become significantly slower. This will exacerbate the global chip crisis. The iPhone will also affect car production.

According to South Korean technology company Samsung, 40 percent of its NAND memory chips produced globally are made in Xi’an.
